Input lag: it’s why LCD televisions suck

I’ve had innumerable conversations with my friends about why I’ve stuck with my Sony XBR960 CRTV television (ie tube-based television), a model that’s often called the last great tube-based tv, despite it being only 32″ in this age of 46 and 52″ televisions. I stumbled across an exhaustively researched post that explains why I’ve stuck with my CRT which is better than anything I could write

    Hey Matt,

    It may be there without you realizing it’s affecting you (you just thought you were aging and suck ;-), or you might have a tv that doesn’t have the problem. Generally plasmas are known to be better with input lag than LCD are. There’s a thread over here:

    that discusses plasmas and input lag and has some tests, but it’s nowhere as comprehensive as the LCD one I linked to above.
