Welcome

You’ve reached daves-place/metamusing. This site has been around in one form or another since 1997. The site exists mainly as a resource for my family and friends, but there’s content here that may be of interest to the random surfer who’s happened across it.

The site’s run by me – David Hamilton. I work in IT management in higher education, currently as Chief Information Officer at Amherst College. I’m in my late 40’s, was born in Missouri, and raised mostly in New York but with interludes in Ohio, British Columbia and San Francisco. I graduated from high school in Northport, New York, and got a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the College of Wooster in 1991. I spent about 11 years in and around Portland, Maine, then moved to Saratoga Springs, NY in the summer of 2004. In the spring of 2006 I moved to western Massachusetts, where I currently live and work. If you’d like to know more about me you can use the links at the top or meander around in my site.
