I found a handy little resource today – check out html-kit’s favicon generator – simply upload a pic to their site and they’ll give you back the pic reformatted as a favicon. I finally got a placeholder icon up today thanks to this site. Free, simple as pie, and it works as advertised.

Hi, i made the favicon steps, even checked and it seems to work but not in safari, i don’t know why it doesnt work on my blog but it works perfectly in yours…

Hi,
I can see your favicon fine, so my guess is it’s something to do with your browser, cache being the most likely. If you’re a pc/internet explorer user you can also try dragging the icon from the address bar onto your desktop, I’ve found that will often force IE into showing a favicon when it is otherwise failing to do so.
