I’ve installed two very handy new utilities on daves-place. First of all, my own instance of sitebar, which is an excellent server-based utility for managing your bookmarks. I regularly use 5 different computers and trying to keep track of where I have a particular link is a major hassle for me. My hope is sitebar can solve this problem. You can access my copy here, and if you use the help link at the bottom it will show you how to install the system as a sidebar in your browser, or at least in browsers that support such things, like mozilla.

The other thing I now have up and running is my own teamspeak server. This is mostly for gaming with friends, but it can also be used for the equivalent of internet telephony. Pretty soon I’m going to start leaving myself logged in as a test to see who will actually log in on a regular basis and say hello. Mind you this is PC only for now, and you need to get in touch with me for an account. They’re working on porting the client to other platforms, wander over to their forums and encourage them if you’re so inclined. Teamspeak has become the defacto clan gaming voicechat app over the last year and a half. Oh, the address for the teamspeak server is this site’s domain.
