A total mind bender

Want to befuddle your poor overtaxed brain? Check out this tough to believe optical illuision. Yes it’s true, those two squares are in fact the same color, our visual systems just aren’t up to the task of noting that fact. There are several other illusions to scope out from the link as well.

    And of course the designer is skeptical, so I took a screen shot and pulled it into Photoshop .. if you run the eyedropper over both squares to show the RGB values of each one in the info pallette, you will see that they are both the same: R-107, G-107, B-107. Or, since it’s gray, in grayscale, they are both 58 percent of black. Cool! also, if you pull samples of each one next to each other, they look identical.

    Yeah, I did a similar thing with an eyedropper sampler. Still blows my mind that my eyes basically ‘fail’ me when looking at that image though. makes you wonder what else they’re lying about.
