based on the behavior profile, the bird spied ya first. as children, we used to see one at the edge of the woods on grandpa’s farm. it just sat there quiet unless we pegged rocks at it.
neat! maybe a barred or great horned owl? Barn owls usually have flat disc faces… useful to enhance hearing while hunting (been reading Guardians of Ga’hoole to Zack! :). Hard to tell, his face is scrunched up.
